Our Transportation Routes
With neighborhood stops along each of Park’s six routes, Park’s transportation program serves nearly half of Park students. Our routes bring students to Park from as far west as Wellesley, from Dedham and Mattapan to the south, from the center of Boston, and neighborhoods in between. Other families drive or carpool to campus, and some who live nearby ride bikes or walk to Park.
Each year, families are able to sign up for Park transportation for an additional fee. Financial aid is provided to families who qualify.
Park Monitors Onboard
In the afternoon, members of Park’s faculty join students on each bus route. Their presence provides the comfort of familiar oversight and safety management consistent with the school day.
Our Transportation Partner
The Park School has a longstanding relationship with Local Motion of Boston for daily transportation. The drivers on each route get to know the children on their bus, and become part of the extended Park support system of caring individuals.
Transportation Fees
The annual cost of transportation is $3,300 per student for the 2024-2025 school year.
Financial Aid for Transportation
Financial aid is provided to all families qualifying for financial aid towards tuition at the same rate of support as they receive for the After School Program. Families receiving financial aid can find their rate of support on the student’s annual Enrollment Contract. If there is a need for additional support, please contact
Matt Kessler.

Transportation FAQs
When the bus is delayed by 15 minutes or more, families will receive communication from the School notifying them of the delay. Please be sure to update your contact information on the Family Portal so that we can always be in touch with you. Families are always welcome to call the front desk (617-277-2456) to ask about the status of any of the routes.
If there is an emergency, families will be notified by the School's emergency broadcast system, which will contact families by phone, text and email.
If your child is in the Lower Division (Grades PreK - Grade 5), please let your child's teacher know which days your child will ride the school bus home. In addition, if your child attends the After School Program, please let Sophie Moss know which days your child will be riding the bus.
Students in Grades 6-8 are not required to notify their advisor about the transportation plans.
At the beginning of the school year, the Division Heads meet with all of the students who ride on school provided transportation. At the meeting, students are introduced to their bus driver and there is a discussion of appropriate behavior on the bus. Students sign a behavior contract, and students are encouraged to talk to their Division Head if there is inappropriate behavior on the bus.
The bus cannot wait for families in the morning. In the afternoon, parents will be contacted by a teacher if their child has missed the afternoon bus.

If a parent or caregiver is not at the stop, the default procedure is for the child to remain on the bus for the remainder of the route and be driven back to Park.
Guests are allowed to ride the bus this academic year. We ask that families not utilize this privilege until October, as students gain familiarity with our operations and procedures surrounding Transportation. Guest riders should be alerted, and confirmed BEFORE 1 pm on the day the guest will be riding. Please send a note to [email protected] and cc your child's advisor/teacher AND the parent of the guest.
Families will be billed for the annual transportation fee of $3,300 per student through Smart Tuition.
