COMMUNITY EXPECTATIONS

DISCRIMINATION, HARASSMENT & BULLYING
Students at The Park School should expect to be treated with respect and consideration and be able to learn in an environment free from concern about their personal welfare.

The School prohibits discrimination or harassment of any student based on race, color, gender, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability. This prohibition applies to other students, employees, visitors, and vendors. In addition, consistent with the School’s mission and Massachusetts state law, each Park student has the right to be protected from bullying and cyberbullying.

DISCIPLINE

We foster self-discipline at Park, and we expect students to act with integrity, respect, and common sense. Rules and guidelines are intended to be age-appropriate and to help students learn to conduct themselves responsibly.

Essentially, the same disciplinary philosophy prevails in all grades. Discipline in the Lower Division is supervised by the homeroom teacher, in consultation with the Division Head. In the Upper Division, the Grade Level Coordinators address minor infractions while the Assistant Upper Division Head addresses major disciplinary issues. The School’s counseling department is consulted by Division Heads as deemed appropriate at the sole discretion of the School.
